📱

HistoPad (Included)

The official augmented-reality tablet handed out at the entrance, in 11 languages, with 3D reconstructions of the medieval royal palace and the Revolutionary tribunal. Free with every admission ticket — about 60 minutes of content.

👥

Small-Group Expert Tour

Up to 25 people with a Paris-licensed historian guide, 90 minutes covering both the medieval palace and the Revolutionary prison. Q&A throughout — your guide can go deeper on whatever interests your group.

🏛️

Conciergerie + Sainte-Chapelle Combined

A 2-hour guided tour covering both monuments of the medieval royal palace complex on Île de la Cité. The most popular and best-value guided option — both halls of the Capetian kings in a single morning.

🌙

Marie-Antoinette Themed Tour

A focused 60-minute tour on the queen's last 76 days, the trial of October 1793, and the cells of her contemporaries. Best for visitors with a specific interest in the French Revolution.

Which tour should I pick?

For a first visit, the HistoPad is the best value by a wide margin — it's included free with every ticket and the augmented-reality reconstructions of the medieval palace are genuinely impressive. There's no closer approximation to seeing the Conciergerie as it looked under Philip the Fair around 1300.

If you have a history background, want a coherent narrative across the medieval and Revolutionary layers, or simply prefer a human voice, book the small-group expert tour. The combined Conciergerie + Sainte-Chapelle tour is the best-value guided option for first-time visitors to Paris — it covers two of the city's most important medieval monuments in a single 2-hour walk. The Marie-Antoinette themed tour is excellent for visitors with a specific interest in the French Revolution but skips much of the medieval architecture.

All tours start at the meeting point in front of the Quay de l'Horloge entrance. Arrive 15 minutes early to clear security — being late means missing the introduction inside.
